The Lene Thun NPO Foundation brings art therapy inside the hospitals all over Italy, giving children of the Paediatric Oncohaematology Units the chance to live some thoughtless time during their hard permanence in the Unit by stimulating them with clay-modelling.
The Foundation is now operating in 21 hospitals, with 38 labs and 500 volunteers, and it became a real psychologic support for the children during their illness.
Modelling activates the healthy side of the children, waking up their creativity and socialization abilities and making them remember the pleasure of playing, so they can live at least a part of the beauty of being children although their illness and the hospitalisation.
In this way pottery (accompanied by a Scientific Committee) becomes an important support for the medical and pharmacological therapy.
When we hear about digital transformation we always think about projects aimed to increase the business performances, decrease costs, raise the profits, but what we – Hyphen-Italia – love is to think about this process as a medium to elevate and share the value of people’s work.
With this project we overcame our expectations, by exploring the digital potential as a Good amplifier, as a tool at the service of society.
Respecting this particularly delicate reality, we developed a project that enables the Foundation not only to simplify the labs management and to support at the best the communication activities, but also to provide the authors of the artworks and their families a gateway to consult all the digital contents related to their experience in the labs, making all these precious memories forever available.
